My nana told me this story about how my family name became the name of a village in Samoa. This story told me to be proud of my name and where I come from.
My Descendants
My nana once told me that there was a secret cave in Samoa, and it was in a secret village called Manuwatu. In the cave there was a man that crossed the island using that cave. When he arrived at the village, there was no one there, so he called that village Uritaua, hence it was his last name. Years passed until new descendants were born. Many, many years later, not until 1973, my dad Uritaua was born. Then, two more descendants, Maara Uriaua and me, Kieran Uritaua were born.
